irregular recordings of an erratic life

Welcome to what I hope will become a regular (though more likely very, very erratic) update of events that happen in my rather haphazard life as an illustrator. I was sure I had something to share when I first decided to include a blog on my new website, but now can't think anything.
EXCEPT that I have a new WEBSITE!

Do have a look at it and please return because in time I hope to open a store and include FAQs and a range of notes for teachers and students.

    1. Thank you for your comment! You were the first person to ever visit this site I think, or at least to comment on it. Thank you! I hope to have some nice stuff in the store soon.

    1. Hi Sheryl - Thank you! I'm a little worried I'll have nothing sensible to post! I'm hoping to give a little background to my work and the illustration side of my life, but it's rather confronting putting things out there. I'll get there I'm sure. I hope you're well.

    1. Hi there!

Thanks for your lovely comment. I generally work slightly differently for each book and aim to find a medium that suits the story. I mostly use watercolour though, either over a pencil drawing, or over a laser print onto watercolour paper. I'm doing a book in oil paints on paper at the moment and loving it! Watercolour can look very faded and I was getting a bit jaded! But oil paints are so bright and intense, and you can make them subtle too. I'll post some examples some time soon.

  4. I have just read everything you have written. I work in a school library and so have only just discovered all of your books. I love your style and work. I have always dreamed of illustrating children's books. Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing so much!
